At Priori, we know that the right legal partner doesn’t just answer questions — they anticipate them, integrate into business processes, and help teams move faster without sacrificing compliance.
In this edition of our Provider Spotlight series, meet Elizabeth Vincent, an attorney specializing in product, advertising, privacy, data security, and commercial law. She primarily works with technology companies — particularly those running retail media networks, offering ad services, or leveraging their data to help others advertise to targeted audiences. With more than a decade of in-house experience in technology, advertising, and product development, Elizabeth has helped global brands bring products to market quickly and navigate complex privacy regulations.
Before joining Fanatics as Director, Legal – Product, Elizabeth partnered with multiple Priori clients, including a major social media company, where she worked across product, marketing, engineering, privacy, and security teams to operationalize privacy requirements and deliver business-aligned, risk-mitigated solutions.
Q: Can you tell us about your legal background and how your practice has evolved?
Elizabeth: I started as in-house counsel while still in law school, working as an intern, and went straight in-house after graduating — a nontraditional path. My first role was with a scale-up, public technology company that was later acquired, where I focused on intellectual property and commercial contracts, later adding privacy and legal operations to my skill set. After roles at a few other companies, I launched my own firm and began working with Priori clients, which ultimately led me back in-house but this time on my own terms.
Q: What are some career milestones you’re most proud of?
Elizabeth: When I was working with a big tech company, my contract came up for renewal every six months. Each time, there was some reason it couldn’t be renewed because of budget freezes, length-of-service limits, or other blockers. But each time, my leadership and the cross-functional teams I partnered with escalated internally to keep me. They saw me as a critical contributor to their goals because of the relationships I’d built, the trust I’d established, and the work product I’d produced.
Q: What do enterprise clients value most about working with you?
Elizabeth: Clients appreciate that I can quickly adapt to their culture, values, priorities, and risk tolerance, and start adding value with very little onboarding. I’m skilled at understanding products and business priorities quickly, aligning my guidance to what they need, and providing risk mitigation strategies that balance the needs of cross-functional teams like product, design, and privacy, all while protecting them from legal, regulatory, and business risks they may not have considered.
Q: How do you approach working with in-house legal teams?
Elizabeth: I start by building a relationship and understanding how they work, prioritize, and evaluate risk so I know what will be most valuable to them. I listen and ask questions without judgment, then provide advice in a helpful, respectful way. I also create documentation so I’m not asking the same questions twice and so they have a resource for the future.
Q: What’s one lesson from Big Tech that shapes how you support clients today?
Elizabeth: The biggest thing I’ve learned is TLDR (“too long, didn’t read”). In law school, you’re praised for writing the longest memo or presenting the most options. In business, no one has time for that. Another way they say this is BLUF (“bottom line up front”). I give clients the key information they need immediately, often with options that outline the risks and rewards so they can make decisions quickly and confidently.
Q: How has Priori connected you with the right opportunities?
Elizabeth: I grew up in a small town in Indiana, went to a regional law school, and went straight in-house after graduation with no firm experience. I never would have applied to a big tech company because I assumed they only hired from Big Law out of Ivy League schools. Priori’s blind bidding system removed that bias (both mine and anyone else’s) by putting me directly in front of decision-makers who valued my skills and experience.
What makes Priori’s matching process so effective is that clients post specific projects with clear scopes, not vague job descriptions. I can instantly see if my skills match, tailor my bid to highlight the most relevant experience, and focus on work where I can add immediate value. Clients get attorneys with exactly the expertise they need, and I get engagements where I can make an impact right away.
Q: Can you share an example where you made a measurable impact for a client?
Elizabeth: One Priori client had never had dedicated product counsel and didn’t know when to involve legal in product development. I created a RACI chart mapping each development phase to the right attorney, timing, and legal issues, which gave teams clarity, cut turnaround times, and reduced risk.
In another role, I built a litigation and regulatory inquiry tracker so useful that leadership created a full-time role to manage it. Whether it’s a RACI chart or a risk tracker, my goal is the same: give teams tools and insight to make faster, better decisions.
Q: How has the ability to choose your engagements shaped your practice, career trajectory, and work/life balance?
Elizabeth: Choosing my engagements through Priori has transformed my career and well-being. It lets me focus on work that matches my expertise while exploring new areas, expanding my skills, and broadening my client base. Just as importantly, it’s improved my work-life balance, helping me manage my time intentionally, avoid burnout, and build a sustainable, fulfilling career.
Q: What should in-house teams know before working with Priori?
Elizabeth: Be clear and specific in your project description — the more detail you provide, the better attorneys can match to your needs. One of the biggest advantages of Priori is flexibility. You can bring someone on for 10 hours a week or 40, for a few months or until hire, and adjust as your needs change. The attorneys here have deep experience in Big Law, big tech, and in-house at leading companies. These aren’t lawyers who “couldn’t make it” elsewhere, but professionals who built careers that work for them.
Priori has been an amazing partner in connecting me with great clients and making sure both sides have a great experience. They’ve even helped me earn more than I thought was possible; another company once told me my rate was “unrealistic” in today’s market, but I secured a Priori project a few months later at a significant raise.
Q: What would you say to another attorney thinking about joining the Priori network?
Elizabeth: I tell attorneys about Priori constantly because it’s created opportunities and compensation rates I never would have dreamed of. People sometimes worry about leaving the “security” of a W-2 job, but Priori gives me true security by building my pipeline for me. All I have to do is bid and deliver good work. That’s what gives me confidence in my future.
